and this ink is lovely. it's water-based so you don't have to worry much about staining your nib because it washes right off with water (don't know about fabrics, i wouldn't suggest trying it ;))

Quality is good. Only surprise was when I broke the wax cap (covering a "cork stopper")..I ended up with ink all over my hands even though the cork was still intact.. A little messy surprise that I was not anticipating.Once Wax cap was removed and cleaned up, everything was fine.

I don't have a lot of experience with calligraphy ink, so I have nothing to compare it to. I thought it was a little watery, but it could be that that's the way ink is.

This is my first ink purchase for a dip pen. Although dries quickly on the paper, it also dries quickly in the jar when sealed. As a newbie, I'll continue to try various inks to find the one I like. But a very good starter.

I ordered the "Violet" ink, and it is a gorgeous dark purple that doesn't seem to fade after drying.
