About this Product

   Wickless Original Bank of England Sealing Wax

  Hand made in authentic  methods and molds for over three hundred years.

This traditional Sealing Wax is still produced in the same methods and molds of yesteryear and was originally used to seal legal papers and documents by governments and banks. Made in the Original formula, this wax is  still hand made by our Scottish sealing wax factory in the same tradition since 1752.
 
Each stick of wickless wax is 8" long and 3/8" thick, and can be used either by hand melting over a flame to produce indiividual imperssions or by  breaking up into pieces and melting down (hence, no wicks!). The use of a melting pot is highly recommended for safety purposes, as this wax has a low melting point of approximately 200 to 230 degrees Fahrenheit. It is then easily dripped onto your envelope or paper with the use of a spoon. This wax is ideal for use in all projects where you still want the look and appearance of REAL sealing wax.
 
Sold in packs of 5 sticks- enough wax to make approximately 100 impressions.
 
Tips & Tricks:  Each stick makes approximately 20 average size impressions per stick.  Calculate how many sticks you need by dividing the number of desired wax seal impressions by 20 (18 to be on the conservative side or if you want to make larger impressions) and you will get the number of sticks needed to complete your project. For high volume use of this style sealing wax, we recommend a melting pot and a spoon, sold sperately or you can use an old heavy saucepan for this purpose. This wax melts at approximately 200-230 degrees Fahrenheit, so it is recommended to be melted at low temperatures only. We therefore highly recommmend using our tested melting equipment .
