It was welded at a off angle, and is a bit flimsy at the welded point.

Brass Melting Spoon With Handle
December 25, 2012

This spoon is very weeak at the connection point to the handle so you must be very gentle when trying to wipe out an excess wax or it will bend and i fear it will eventully give way. Also, some of the wax remains after use so I am not sure how I am going to re use it without affecting the next color seal. NI COMMENTS: Thanks for your feedback. We do recommend that you wipe to clean the spoon when the wax is still hot. We will also check on your other issue with the handle connection point tothe wood to make sure it is sturdy.

This is an absolute requirement if you are sealing more than one or two items at a time. It is so easy and clean that I use it even when I only have to seal one letter.

Works well, but handle comes off!

The spoon works very well with melting wax, but if you are using an open flame to melt the wax, beware that the wood handle can come away from the brass hardware! It's an easily fixed problem with a drop of high-temp epoxy ;).
