The look of the quill and ink as it writes is all great and dandy, but I was pretty disappointed with the nib that came included. I'm totally new to calligraphy, so maybe I pushed too hard, though I was trying to be gentle, when I first used the quill, but after I dipped the ink twice and wrote one full line, the nib fractured at the tip and rendered it useless. I found a replacement at a local shop that is much sturdier and fits the quill very well, and I continue to use and enjoy it.
